Fort Lauderdale’s Live Music Scene Is Having a Moment

April 11, 2026

For years, Fort Lauderdale existed in Miami’s shadow when it came to live music. The venues were there, the talent was there — but the critical mass of venues, audiences, and media attention always seemed to flow south. That is changing. Quickly.

Revolution Live

Revolution Live on Broward Boulevard is the anchor of the Fort Lauderdale scene — a proper mid-size venue (capacity around 2,200) that books national touring acts alongside regional headliners. Recent years have seen an acceleration in booking quality, with artists who previously skipped Broward County now making it a regular stop.

The Funky Buddha Brewery

Beyond its well-regarded craft beers, Funky Buddha has become an increasingly serious live music destination. The outdoor stage hosts everything from jam bands to indie rock on Friday and Saturday evenings. No cover for most shows; just buy a beer and stay.

Tarpon Bend

A waterfront restaurant and bar on Las Olas that books acoustic acts most nights of the week. The setting — boats on the New River, sunset views — makes even a mediocre set feel cinematic. The good sets are genuinely memorable.

The Bottom Line

Fort Lauderdale still lacks the density of options that Miami proper offers, but the trajectory is clearly upward. The Lower Las Olas and Flagler Village neighborhoods in particular have seen a cluster of new venues open in the last two years. Pay attention to what is happening north of the county line — South Florida’s music map is getting bigger.
