The Brickell Night Guide: 7 Spots for Live Music After Dark

May 2, 2026

Brickell has grown up. What was once Miami’s quiet banking district has evolved into one of the city’s most active after-dark destinations — and the live music scene has grown right alongside it. Here are seven spots worth building a night around.

1. Sugar at the EAST Hotel

Forty floors up with a view that makes conversation difficult. The rooftop bar brings in jazz and lounge acts Thursday through Saturday. Dress code enforced. Reservations strongly recommended.

2. Blackbird Ordinary

The opposite of Sugar in almost every way — a ground-level, no-frills bar with rotating local acts and one of the best beer selections in the neighborhood. Indie, punk, and soul rule the stage here.

3. Baru Urbano

Colombian cuisine and Latin beats in a rooftop setting that somehow manages to feel intimate. The resident duo plays salsa and cumbia every Friday. The ceviche is excellent. Do not skip it.

4. Pub on the River

Exactly what it sounds like. A sprawling outdoor bar on the Miami River with Irish music on weekends, cold beer all week, and a crowd that skews local. One of the neighborhood’s most genuinely unpretentious options.

5. The Continental

A Brickell staple that quietly books some of the city’s better jazz quartets. Small room, good acoustics, strong cocktail list. Best experienced on a Tuesday when the tourist volume drops and the regulars come out.

6. Cleo Rooftop

Mediterranean-inspired rooftop with DJs and occasional live sets from acoustic acts. The view is spectacular. The crowd is dressed. The music is ambient enough that conversation is possible.

7. Brickell City Centre Courtyard

On weekend evenings the open-air courtyard often features pop-up acoustic performances — usually unsigned locals building their live chops. Free, accessible, and occasionally excellent.
