The Best Lounges in Miami: Cocktail, DJ and Jazz Lounges in Brickell, Downtown, Wynwood, the Design District and Coral Gables

October 26, 2026

The best lounges in Miami are the rooms where you can hear the person next to you: rooftop gardens above Brickell, a vinyl listening bar in Wynwood, a basement DJ room downtown and a jazz room on Miracle Mile. This guide sticks to cocktail lounges, DJ lounges and live music lounges in Brickell, Downtown, Wynwood, the Design District and Coral Gables, with the nights and hours we confirmed with each venue. If you want a full nightclub instead, our guide to the best clubs in Miami covers the big rooms.

Quick Picks

  • Best for skyline views: Sugar, Brickell.
  • Best for vinyl and serious sound: Dante’s HiFi, Wynwood.
  • Best for late night DJs: Jolene Sound Room, Downtown Miami.
  • Best jazz lounge: Armstrong Jazz House, Coral Gables.
  • Best for live music without a reservation: Lagniappe, near the Design District.
  • Best for a weeknight happy hour: Rosa Sky, Brickell.

Sugar

Sugar sits on the 40th floor of EAST Miami at Brickell City Centre, 788 Brickell Plaza, Miami, FL 33131. It is a garden rooftop with a hand carved Balinese bar, Asian share plates and wide views over Biscayne Bay and the Brickell skyline. DJs take over as the night goes on.

It opens at 4pm every day and runs to 2am Sunday through Wednesday and 3am Thursday through Saturday. Come at sunset for a date; later on weekends it gets busy (get directions).

Rosa Sky

On the 22nd floor at 115 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33130, Rosa Sky is a pink lit rooftop lounge with tapas, bottle service and DJ driven weekends. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30pm to 7pm and Sunday from 2pm to 6pm, and Ladies Night is Wednesday from 7pm to 11pm.

Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday 4:30pm to 2am and Sunday 2pm to 1am. Valet is available at the AC Hotel and Element Brickell. It suits after work drinks and birthday tables (get directions).

Blackbird Ordinary

The looser end of lounges in Brickell, Blackbird Ordinary at 729 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33130 is an indoor and outdoor cocktail bar with a deep whiskey and tequila list. Fridays are the night to know: live music outdoors during happy hour, then Foolish Hearts from 8pm with free entry and DJs all night.

Reservations are taken until 1am and walk ins are welcome until 5am, so it is a common last stop for the Brickell crowd (get directions).

Jolene Sound Room

Jolene Sound Room is a basement DJ room at 200 E Flagler St, Miami, FL 33131, designed after midcentury recording studios and 1970s leisure culture. It is programmed by Miami native DJ Ray and opens Thursday through Sunday from 10pm to 4am.

Tickets for its DJ nights are sold through Dice, so check the lineup before you go. It suits dancing in a small room rather than a big club (get directions).

Dante’s HiFi

Behind an unmarked door at 519 NW 26th St, Miami, FL 33127, Dante’s HiFi was the first vinyl listening bar in Wynwood. Records come from the personal collection of resident music director Rich Medina and play through a high end analog system, with Japanese style highballs and seasonal cocktails at the bar.

It is open to the public, but tables go fast on Fridays and Saturdays, so reserve ahead. Members get quicker seating and at least one members only event a month. Ideal for record collectors and a second date (get directions). For more nights in the neighborhood, see Wynwood after dark.

Lagniappe

A wine bar with an outdoor courtyard on NE 2nd Avenue, a few blocks south of the Design District, Lagniappe at 3425 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137 has live music every night from 9pm to midnight. The October calendar mixes Brazilian jazz, blues and soul guitarists.

It opens at 6pm, closes at 2am Sunday through Thursday and 3am on Friday and Saturday, and takes no reservations. Arrive before the first set on weekends if you want a table outside (get directions).

The Roof at The Moore

The newest lounge in the Design District, The Roof at The Moore opened in December 2025 on top of The Moore, the 1922 landmark that now holds a members club and boutique hotel. Enter from Jade Alley at 176 NE 41st St, Miami, FL 33137. It is the only open air rooftop lounge in the district, serving craft cocktails and small bites with open views of the city.

Published hours have varied since opening, so call (305) 209 2100 before you go. The Paradise Plaza Garage is the closest parking. (get directions).

Armstrong Jazz House

The standout jazz lounge in Miami right now, Armstrong Jazz House at 271 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134 runs three live jazz sets every night at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm, with a $5 cover per person. Each night has a resident group; Thursday belongs to the Richard Bravo Jazz Trio and Sunday to the Rafael Valencia Jazz Trio.

It is a dinner and cocktails room, open from 6pm to midnight and later on weekends, so book a table if you want to eat. On Saturdays it also hosts free jazz instrument lessons for kids (get directions). For more of the scene, see our guide to Miami’s best jazz clubs.

Copper 29

Across the street at 206 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134, Copper 29 marked ten years in 2026 and is a Miracle Mile fixture for craft cocktails, live music and entertainment, and a young professional crowd.

It is closed Monday and opens at 5pm Tuesday through Saturday, staying open to 3am on Friday and Saturday, with a Sunday bottomless brunch from noon. A dress code applies indoors on Friday and Saturday nights: no shorts, hats, sleeveless shirts or flip flops (get directions). Our Coral Gables bars guide has more stops on the Mile.

Planning a Lounge Night in Miami

Sugar, Rosa Sky and Blackbird Ordinary are all in Brickell within a short walk or rideshare of each other, and Jolene is a quick ride north in Downtown, so a rooftop sunset and a late set at Jolene make one night. Wynwood, Lagniappe and the Design District sit close together north of Downtown and are easiest by rideshare. Coral Gables is its own trip: Armstrong Jazz House and Copper 29 are across Miracle Mile from each other.

Thursday through Saturday are the busiest nights everywhere on this list. Rideshare is simpler than parking if you plan to stay late, and reservations help at Dante’s HiFi, Armstrong and the Brickell rooftops.
